[cifs-discuss] bind CIFS server to a single IP only

Hi all
Is there any way to make the CIFS server listen to a single (virtual) IP only? We usually offer dedicated addresses for a given service such as NFS, WWW or CIFS to become independent of a single machine
Thanks Thomas

Firewall would be an option; that's probably not what you were looking for though...

Similar to what bitshop said, you may be able to control this using IP filters until this functionality is developed.
On a related note, if accessing via a DNS name that resolves to the IP, you may have to change the "NetBIOS Name," but I don't know if CIFs can do that.
