On solaris 10 will it be enough to only update the SFWfirefox.pkg? ****re the other pkgs updated as well?

If you're using Firefox 3.0.8 build, the dependent libraries are the same. Then yes, only update SFWfirefox should work.

Any chance that this release will be built so that fonts will look as good as it does on the Firefox 2 releases... 3.0 looks insanely ugly (almost unusable) as it is today...

OpenSolaris build works fine here. Just tried Solaris 10 build with a new profile and it seems to be broken for the font part. Thanks for reporting. I'll fix this for the next release. As for this build, the work around is as below:
- go to Edit->Preferences->Content->Advanced. - set Serif to Times, Sans-serif to Helvetica and monospace to Courier.

Not sure since which build doesn't support this addon. I remember that I've tried this one a while ago, maybe for Firefox 2.0.0.x and it worked. Just tried 3.0.9 here on OpenSolaris and it works too.
As Vimperator is written with XUL+JavaScript+CSS(...), it should be cross-platform.
Could you please be more specific on which part is missing?

Well, I just spoted on https://addons.mozilla.org that Vimperator supports up to 3.6a1pre...
I tried to install it directly via web some time ago with build 106 - and failed, Vimperator said, that my version of Firefox is unsupported.
That was one of the reasons for me to roll back on stable 2008.11 release

I didn't know vimperator existed, it looks and feels good. Thanks!

I just installed it on the default firefox bundled with snv_111 which is 3.1b and it's working nicely.

BTW - thank you so much for Songbird 1.0 contributed build - with Xulmus&DirectoryBrowser it`s just as awesome as it should be :)

I don't recall, what's the font bug that quite often causes printed web pages to come out in horrible pixelated type with characters overlapping one another with a default font of Helvetica?
I'm looking forward to the day where I have to stop printing web pages from a browser running on a different OS...

Is this print problem for Solaris 10? or OpenSolaris? I ask is because the default font for Firefox on OpenSolaris should be "DejaVu" instead of Helvetica.

OpenSolaris 2008.11.
I specifically set my Default Font in Firefox 3.0.9 to "Helvetica 12."

I'd also like to add that I did this because if I use a font like DejaVu Sans, on my LCD (20.1" Sun LCD) I have a lot of color fringing, with the edges of thin lines appearing blue or red.
This goes away with a font like Helvetica or Lucida.

Hi William,
This is a known issue of cairo library.
You can disable "Allow pages to choose their own fonts" in Firefox and select a true type font instead bitmap font.
Or you can add a file in your home directory. $cat ~/.fonts.conf <?xml version="1.0"?> <!DOCTYPE fontconfig SYSTEM "fonts.dtd"> <!-- ~/.fonts.conf file to configure system font access --> <fontconfig> <!-- Reject bitmap fonts in favour of Truetype, Postscript, etc. --> <selectfont> <rejectfont> <pattern> <patelt name="scalable"><bool>false</bool></patelt> </pattern> </rejectfont> </selectfont> </fontconfig>
Thanks,
Ginn

Is there any chance to backport/integrate 3.x to Solaris 10 in next update release (S10U7 or U8) ? I'm happy user of S10, but now exists many useful addons which are not compatible with 2.x firefox.
