Firefox 3.5 — code-named Shiretoko — is set to launch on Tuesday, June 30th!
To celebrate this release which said to be the fastest Mozilla-based browser, Mozilla community launches "Shiretoko Shock" program. Want to know about the detail? Please refer to: http://www.spreadfirefox.com/shiretokoshock-campaign. For Firefox fans, don't forget to set your watch to 3:50pm and be part of the shock ;-)
BTW, the Solaris builds of Firefox 3.5 are available: http://opensolaris.org/os/community/desktop/communities/mozilla/development/. Enjoy :-)

I'm new to OpenSolaris. How does one update the Firefox on it? There is no "Update" option in FF menu (probably in order to point to using system packaging manager). But latest package in repository contains Firefox being 3.1 b3.
Mozilla FTP has corresponding packages here: ftp://releases.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla-releases/firefox/releases/3.5/contrib/solaris_pkgadd/
Why aren't they in repository too?

Firefox 3.5 beta 4 is in OpenSolaris support repository, and 3.5 final will be there soon.
You can also use http://pkg.opensolaris.org/dev/ Firefox 3.5 final will be there soon.

I was able to add extras repository obtaining a certificate from pkg.sun.com but it didn't provide a choice for support repository certificate. Is it available there somehow?
Thanks.

The /support repository is only available if you have a valid OpenSolaris support contract with Sun. You can get more information about OpenSolaris support here: http://www.sun.com/service/opensolaris/index.jsp
