[docs-discuss] "Writing Open Source" project & BoF at OSCON

Looking through the schedule for next week's OSCON in San Jose, I saw an interesting BoF on open source documentation: http://en.oreilly.com/oscon2009/public/schedule/detail/10217
It's related to a cross-project open source docs conference held last month: http://www.writingopensource.com/
Has anyone from the OpenSolaris docs community been involved in this?
(Since one the many things I do is update documentation for X.Org, including translating ancient scrolls from lost languages like troff to DocBook, I was considering checking it out.)
BTW, for those local, OSCON BoF's are free to attend if you get the free exhibit hall pass: http://en.oreilly.com/oscon2009/public/content/free

Thanks for pointing this out! I just registered with writingopensource.com.
Would be great to get a report on that BOF session from bay area locals able to attend.

Alysson, did you see that have an open source style guide project? Wonder how it compares to our style guide cheat sheet?

It looks like they have a skeleton framework in place. Only two of the
following sections (shown in bold) (listed at
http://writingopensource.com/open-source-style-guide) have any content:
Interestingly, the short References section includes the Sun Global
Glossary and Read Me First! A Style Guide for the Computer
Industry (which is Sun's external trade version of its internal
style guide).
Our cheat sheet has about 8-10 (printed) pages of fairly well-developed
content. Here's the TOC (from http://opensolaris.org/os/community/documentation/doc_collab/style_guide/editorial_guidelines/):
