spammers roomity.com hitting opensolaris list users

I got a spam from roomity.com which was supposedly in response to an opensolaris.org posting:
"I was reading your posts on the osol-discuss mailing group yesterday, and think our site may be of interest to you. It will put all the posts from the group on one page, and keep your inbox cleaner. There is nothing to buy, and there is a video demo, if you like. If you do get a chance to check it out, let me know what you think of it - I would love to hear your thoughts."
A google search shows other list owners seeing addresses from roomity.com subscribing to all their lists and other users reporting their spamming. I would like to suggest that subscribers from that domain be removed from the opensolaris.org lists and prevented from subscribing.
In the likely event that others of you got spammed, forward the message with complete headers to their network provide: abuse@he.net

James,
Sorry for the delay in getting back you on this, I was out of the office for awhile. I will remove all the roomity.com accounts from the mail lists.
Thanks for the heads up.
Derek

Derek Cicero,
James Lick lies, it's not true. Should he not have to prove? He.net mail admins ignore him.
I am CEO of roomity. We are a Sun partners, providing a Sun Java commericial application that mirrors mail list, just like other companies do (Gmane, Mail-Arcvhive, etc) and emable users to search etc. Differences is that we are writen in Java.
James, and very few othrs, did receive a Personal Email by a live person based on his posting of the list, just like get of the list postings all the time. He is cauasing me comercail damange... but he is in China where most spam origrinates and one can just accuse; and not much I can do about it.
In any case, he should probe what he is saying, else.. you realy should not discriminate who mirrors your mail list.

You keep saying that I'm lying, both here and to abuse at he dot net but you then ignore me when I ask for clarification. As for what I posted here, I said that I got an ad from your company, that I considered it spam, and that other people had received similiar messages and also considered them to be spam. Anyone in any doubt can plug "roomity.com spam" into google and see for yourself. I've attached below some of the links I came across.
>James, and very few othrs, did receive a Personal Email by a live person based on his posting of the list, just like get of the list postings all the time. >
And other people got virtually identical messages from your company and also considered them to be spam.
>He is cauasing me comercail damange... but he is in China where most spam origrinates and one can just accuse; and not much I can do about it. > > >
I've already replied to you before that I do not live in China. Also as an aside, the US is the number one source of spam, with China being number 2 (according to Spamhaus). As to whatever damage has occurred, it directly stems from your own activities. If you don't like people talking about what you are doing, don't do it!
>In any case, he should probe what he is saying, else.. >
Likewise you should look into the accuracy of what Mr. Cekvenich is saying. I would hope that Derek takes a look at the links below and also some of the newer links you can find in google about roomity.com. If there is anything that I've posted here that is inaccurate, please point to the specifics. Thanks.
--- below is some archived links I saved ---
A few days ago I received a personalized advertisement for roomity.com (sample included at end) in response to a posting I made at opensolaris.org. The advertisement was not in any way related to the subject of my post.
There's three other reports out on the net which, other than personalization, are identical to mine:
http://nion.modprobe.de/blog/archives/367-Human-spam.html http://mail.wikipedia.org/pipermail/wikien-l/2005-September/028165.html http://permalink.gmane.org/gmane.mail.vpopmail/16066
And there's other reports that are substantively the same content as the advertisement I received:
http://mail.gnome.org/archives/gamin-list/2005-August/msg00102.html
On top of that there are at least 3 other reports that report roomity.com as spammers but don't include samples:
http://www.nagiosexchange.org/nagios-users.34.0.html?&tx_maillisttofaq_pi1[mode]=1&tx_maillisttofaq_pi1[sword]=roomity.com&tx_maillisttofaq_pi1[an swered_only]=0&tx_maillisttofaq_pi1[showUid]=10351
http://agavi.org/irclogs/%23agavi.2005-08-31.log.html http://www.mail-archive.com/tbbeta at thebat dot dutaint dot com/msg72099.html
Reading the complaints out there it seems that their MO is to subscribe their list collector address to multiple mailing lists, repackage the content on their site and then send ads to list posters inviting them to use roomity.com to read the list.

There is nothing to buy, and there is a video demo, if you like. If you do get a chance to check it out, let me know what you think of it - I would love to hear your thoughts.
The site addy is http://www.roomity.com.
Thanks!

In reviewing the situation, it appears that you joined the list for the sole purpose of harvesting sales contacts, as there have been no posts from your email address, or those at the roomity domain, regarding the development and/or use of OpenSolaris. If you wish to participate in the community, you are more than welcome to do so, but you must participate under the proper Terms Of Use.
