Problem Installing CBE 1.6

In the middle of trying to install cbe 1.6 I got the following error message:
/cdrom/cdrom0/Solaris_11/Product/SUNWsmbaS not found
I went back to the SXCE 65 (& 63) DVD and couldn't find that file.
Where can I find SUNWsmbaS? Thanks.

Wouldn't know if it's been removed. My SXDE from Feb does have it. If the package really _is_ missing you could remove the dependency on that package from the install script. Very little harm done for most of the packages you can compile from within the CBE. I have no exact idea which package needs the samba source. Maybe someone will. (or have other suggestions). All I know is I compile lots of stuff on solaris-10 too and had to remove lots of so called dependencies from the scr**** because they simply did not exist yet or because I did not want (need) all those language files. Irony is I left SUNWsmbaS alone ;-) (Mind you, the CBE is not made for S10). Are you sure the package is not on the DVD?

After I deleted "SUNWsambaS" from the cbe-installer script, I was then able to install CBE 1.6.
I have been spoiled by the convenience of using blastwave.org. There's a lot for me to learn about installing Solaris packages.

The CBE no longer requires this package because the header files that were in that package are now (correctly) in the samba devel package (name of the package escapes me).

I don't know why it wouldn't be on your b63 DVD, but as for the b65 one, I noticed recently that the removal of source packages from SFW was submitted as an RFE a while back and then recently completed:

(I didn't know that the cbe install required SUNWsmbaS though.)

Correction, sorry. Build 65 of SFW (see 2nd link below) might have been implemented in build 63 of Nevada. If so, SUNWsmbaS wouldn't be on either of your DVDs.

Sorry, you're right. there is _no_ (verified a couple of times) SUNWsmbaS on SXCE 65 DVD, but, I was able find it on SXCE 63.

It's a bug that the CBE thinks it requires that pkg. It will be fixed in the next release of the CBE
Try skipping it, or if you have b64a or earlier that point to a copy of the pkg from there.

Any idea why so many language pack**** are needed as dependency for CBE? Not htat space matters, but I just wonder..

I don't think it's the CBE that needs these, but they are needed for a full build of JDS. For example SUNWgnome-dtlogin-integration requires a lot of l10n pkgs.
