I am running MilaX 0.3.1 LiveCD under VBox 1.6.2 in OpenSolaris. I have set aside 8GB space for the .vdi image.

My question is, how do I do fdisk on this HD image to create a Solaris slice before I can install MilaX? Thanks.

As a follow-up, I booted into the MilaX 0.3.1 LiveCD, did a pfexec format c4d0, then selected fdisk from the options. After saved the newly created partition, and exited, the new partition did no show up on df -k, and I was again unable to run the zfsinstall c4d0s0 command.

I think you forgot create root slice in partition menu of format cmd. Do it and you'll have c4d0s0.

Thanks. I am able to install MilaX in OpenSolaris via VirtualBox.

However, while I was able to get network under the LiveCD mode (also under VirtualBox), the network connection was lost on the HD-installed system. Anything I should try?

Looks like e1000g0 was not plumbed by default. The network is working now. I am posting this message from MilaX 0.3.1/VBox 1.6.2.

That the network has earned after HD-installation it is necessary to establish the static IP-address by means of Static Net Setup in IceWM menu before zfsinstall.

I'm playing with this distro since the beginning and it's GREAT!
Tnx to the developers!
I've 2 questions:
1) The zfs installation script is nice and works fine, but, just for the sake of it, would it be possible to do the same for an ufs installation?
2) Would it be possible to update to a new release without the need to reinstall?

tnx!

I'll put ufs-install script on the site tomorrow.
So far I make MilaX by hands. In the future I hope to automate the process and go to IPS and create MilaX own pkg repository.

Has forgotten to mention that from version 0.3.1 it is possible to install an additional software by means of IPS pkg. Short example here: http://www.opensolaris.org/os/project/milax/documentation/IPS/

Hi, I'm trying to install 0.3.1 in VirtualBox. I followed all instructions, I created a 8gb size vdi file, I labeled the disk, I created the root partition (7gb) and the swap, and I launched zfsinstall c4d0s0.
I received tha usual messages, but after 4 hours the installation is still pending.
I made again the installation, but the result is the same. I saw that /zfsroot dir size was incrementing, but after sometime if in a new shell i type df -h i reeive the message
-bash fork: Resource temporary unavailable.
Any idea?
TIA
Stefano
