An office mate had a lost
weekend (without booze) a couple of weeks back trying to do something similar
on the x86 release. I warned him that the x86 psuedo-boot (sorry I should look
up the correct term – the portion that loads the drivers prior to OS boot
on the x86 release) would not like virtualization. He left Friday PM to prove
me wrong and came back Monday morning whipped.

Subject: [ug-alamosug] OpenSolaris
(x86) in VMware 5.x On x86_64 Linux (Was: [Re: Is anybody out there?])
Ah, well in that case, let me be the first to get the
ball rolling.
With everything I've been
reading about OpenSolaris, I'm dying to jump in. However, I don't have a
machine to dedicate to it. I do, however have an x86_64 Linux box
(SlAMD64) with VMware 5.x.
Has anyone experimented with
running OpenSolaris under VMware?

Hey guys,
I haven't seen any activity on
this list yet, so I was wondering if I wasn't the only one.
How goes it in your neck of the woods?
