Minor flag day: Nemo Interface SimplificationDate: Mon, 01 Aug 2005 12:59:01 -0700 From: Eric Cheng <tlc at sun dot com> To: on-all at sun dot com, onnv-gate at onnv dot eng dot sun dot com Subject: Minor flag day: Nemo Interface Simplification This is a minor flag day for users of (Cap-Eye) Install, bfu, incremental build, and users of machines with bge or xge network interfaces. With the putback of: PSARC 2005/365 Nemo drivers interface simplification 6253542 dld breaks autopush, PPPoE, ipfilter for bge and xge 6246540 race condition between aggr driver detach and create-aggr 6261226 Nemo should use modhash 6272908 in.rarpd no longer works for GLDv3 interfaces 6303082 ill_tx fastpath lacks flow control The user/kernel interface has changed and (Cap-Eye) Install will break. Your test machine must be bfu'ed at least once before you can resume using Install. incremental builds should work provided that the proto area is deleted first. the latest bfu will soon be at: /ws/onnv-gate/public/bin/bfu failure to use the latest bfu will result in some harmless error messages at boot-up time. *WARNING*: If after you've bfu'ed your machine with the latest bits and you decide to bfu to some older onnv bits, be aware that you must use a bfu script which does *not* include the latest changes. failure to do so will cause loss of network connectivity if you happen to have bge or xge interfaces. to recover, you have to manually run 'dladm init-link' and restart the net-physical service. once you have regained connectivity, redo the bfu using the proper bfu script. please mail gld-iteam at sun dot com if any problems are encountered. bugs may be filed at the kernel/gld category. |
