Subject: FLAG DAY: SNMP (sma) Users
If you are using SNMP, or think you might use it in the future, please
read on. Please note that the SNMP service is turned off by default (you can
verify this by running "svcs sma")
The putback of:
PSARC 2006/314 Updated MIBs
6501024 Add support for new IP/TCP/UDP MIBs
introduces several new MIB counters in the kernel, which will cause
the SNMP agent to crash when accessing IP, TCP or UDP MIB information.
(Cap Eye) Install and BFU users: After upgrading to the new ON bits,
run /ws/onnv-gate/public/bin/update_sma to update the relevant
packages. Please ensure that the SNMP service is disabled while doing
the upgrade ("svcadm disable sma" would do the trick).
OpenSolaris users: tar balls containing the relevant packages and
the update_sma script is available at:
http://opensolaris.org/os/project/net-mib/files/
Any additional questions, please contact mib-core at sun dot com
Thanks
