Subject: Heads up: Sun internal restrictions on build snv_70

Howdy--

My apologies for not clearing this up sooner, since different versions
have gone to different folks.

There have been several internal (but not, as far as I know) any external
communications about restrictions to builds snv_69 and snv_70. Sun's goal
is to stabilize build snv_70, in preparation for the third SXDE release.

What does this mean if you work for Sun?

If in doubt, ask your manager. In general, this means you should
probably be targeting risky work, projects, or RFEs to build
  	snv_71 or later.

In other words, proceed as usual, or ask your manager for
  	direction or clarification.

What does this mean if you don't work for Sun?

The ON CRT has been instructed to exercise careful judgement
during these builds. Theoretically, this is not a change, because
that's always supposed to be the case. Realistically, we (the
advocates) may be a bit pickier than usual in asking for
additional review, testing, or other risk mitigation.

In other words, proceed as usual.

What if you're a CRT Advocate, and aren't sure what to do with an RTI
during build snv_70?

You can always forward it to me, along with a conscientious
evaluation. I'm happy to take the heat one way or another.

Again, I'm sorry this changed so late in the game, and that the change has
been poorly communicated both inside and outside of Sun.
