Heads up: gate down 21-25 Nov, 2007

Subject: Heads up: gate down 21-25 Nov, 2007

The ON gate / build servers will be powered off at 6PM Pacific on
Wednesday 21 November, 2007 [1]. MPK labs will be shut down
for long-term maintenance over the (US) holiday weekend.

That means everything: routers, servers, and obviously, the gate.

The ON gate / build servers should be powered back on by Sunday
evening 25 November (Pacific). This is not guaranteed, just the
current estimate [2].

This also means the gate will be locked at 4PM Pacific in order
for all incremental builds to complete before powering off. This
also gives clone maintainers (outside MPK) time to sync before
poweroff.

Build 79 does not close until 11PM Pacific Tuesday 27 November.
Build 79 is also the SXDE build. A record number of putbacks on
Monday/Tuesday will not help stability, so please *plan* accordingly.

For Sun engineers, the gate being down also means BFU will not
succeed unless you follow OpenSolaris.org procedures [3].

Mail will be sent when the gate is operational again.
