Minor xVM flag day: domU shutdown changesDate: Thu, 22 May 2008 00:49:22 +0100 From: John Levon <john.levon at sun dot com> To: on-all at eng dot sun dot com, onnv-gate at onnv dot eng dot sun dot com Subject: Minor xVM flag day: domU shutdown changes If you don't use xVM, you can skip this message. The putback of: 6677804 Can't shutdown Solaris HVM guest with PV drivers constitutes a minor flag day for Solaris Nevada domUs. If you update your xVM packages without also BFUing onnv or otherwise updating the kernel, then you won't be able to cleanly shutdown your domU via the 'xm reboot' or 'xm shutdown' commands. As always, it's recommended to update both xVM packages and BFU at the same time. thanks, john |
