You've missed this meeting unfortunately, but Tim has a writeup on his blog with links to slides and (sort of) mp3s of the meeting. Tenth Irish OpenSolaris User Group Meeting
The talk will dig into SMF a little more than we did last month, showing day-to-day usage, as well as administration aspects of SMF. Fintan will also cover a little bit of the behind-the-scenes kernel details of SMF, but it'll predominantly be about the userland parts. Fintan will talk a bit about the some of the work he did a while back using SMF to tie Apache and MySQL together, also documented here and if anyone's interested, Tim says he can talk a bit about some ZFS & SMF integration too. If you've got any apps that you think would benefit from running as an SMF service, we'd be really interested in hearing about them, as Fintan's offered to give some practical examples during his talk. We'll also present the monthly "What's new in OpenSolaris", giving a quick summary of some of the notable things you may have missed over the past month. We'll probably head to a local pub afterwards to continue the discussions – everyone welcome! As always, let us know if you've suggestions for this and other meetings – we really appreciate your input! |
