Welcome to SAM-QFS

Sun StorageTek QFS used with Sun StorageTek SAM provides a shared file system and storage archive management solution for building tiered storage solutions that enable consolidation, continuity, content, and compliance solutions. 

Introduction

Increased regulatory requirements governing how business data is managed over its lifetime is driving new market opportunities in storage. The dynamic combination of QFS with HSMs such as Sun StorageTek SAM represents a powerful tool for developing archiving practices for specific industries or applications.  When combined within a Sun integrated stack of software, hardware, and services, these file systems provide the foundation for Information Life Cycle Management with application integration. This combination allows data to be managed based on its value to the business.

SAM-QFS Open Sourced

We are please to announce that we have open sourced the SAM-QFS code! This major contribution to the OpenSolaris community is now available for download with additional information at http://blogs.sun.com/samqfs. We are very excited to take this big step in creating an open source community around SAM-QFS and continuing to grow Open Solaris as a premier storage OS.
